Hi,
I’ve just installed EZ Drummer on my Macbook Pro through GarageBand and when I go to use it I keep getting the prompt
“EZDrummer cannot find the sound files — reinstall or move the sounds to ‘users/Scott—etc.”
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times. I’ve used the sound mover to direct the files to the recommended location and nothing seems to work.
Can someone please help me sort this out? I’m pretty frustrated as it doesn’t seem to be very straightforward or intuitive.
Thanks,
Scott
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘recommended location’, there is no such recommendation. The default is for the library to install in /Library/Application Support/EZdrummer… if you use Soundmover you have to specify your preference (as stated in the readme file).
My best guess is that you ran several times soundmover without specifying where the library should be moved to, which can cause problems with older version (of Soundmover), difficult ones to recover without familiarity with the program.
At this point your best bet is to use the uninstaller included with EZdrummer 1.2.1 (available from your user account), then reinstall from disc (or full product download, whichever it may be). Please make sure to install the 1.2.1 update as a very last step.
Also check the root of your system drive and delete any ‘EZDrummer’ folder there as it is likely where the orphan library is at the minute (taking HD space for no good reason).
