Hi,
I’ve used EZ Drummer successfully with Sonar 7xl HS on a Windows 7 64 bit computer. I now have Sonar X1 producer (64 bit) and the same computer and can’t get EZ Drummer to show itself as a VST plug-in. I’m sure it has something to do with changing from 32 bits to 64 bits. Do I need to delete my original version of EZ Drummer then reload a 64 bit version? If so, how do I do that?
Thanks very much for any assistance.
Mike

Hi,
have you downloaded the 1.3.0 EZdrummer update and run both the 32-bit and 64-bit installers?
Have you pointed X1 to the location of the 64-bit dll?
Do not uninstall/delete the 32-bit version.

John

Most times this issue is solved by going to the Preferences pages and adding a path to the 64 bit version in the VST scanner.

Hi Dave,
I went to the preferences page–file–VST Settings–then selected “Add” then selected the EZ Drummer file from my download page. Nothing happened. Could you tell me how to add a path to the 64 bit version? I’m not much of a computer techie so a simple explanation would be greatly appreciated :-).
Thanks,
Mike

Hi John,
I just now downloaded 1.3.0, both 32 and 64 bit versions. Dave also suggested pointing X1 to the location of the 64-bit dll and I asked him to explain this to a dumb–non-computer guy. Of course, if you’ve got a simple way of explaining this I’d sure appreciate it.
Thanks!
Mike

Adding a path to the VST Scanner in X1’s Preferences should be documented in the SONAR Help files or the PDF manual. Check that out and see if you can understand it. If you have questions, I’ll help you out. There should be no need for me to retype the procedure.

Hi Dave,
After searching my program files I found the 64 bit version of EZ Drummer and added this version to the VST plug-ins per the “help” file. All works great now. It’s amazing what you can find in the on-line help file!
Thanks,
Mike

I figured if you were sharp enough to buy the best products on the market, you could figure this out with a point in the right direction. Good luck and enjoy!
