Hello! I am recording a song using EZ drummer and my electronic drum kit. My drummer used a cymbal for a phrase that I wanted to change to an open hi hat. When recording the track, he was pressing on the hi hat pedal on quarter notes. Now when I switched the midi notes to an open 5 hi hat on the pop punk ez drummer expansion, the automation of the hi hat pedal control is still there. How can I get rid of this automation so I can keep the hi hat open for the phrase?
Go into Grid Editor. Click on the hi hat on the left to open the drop menu. Move the events you want moved. I hope that’s what you mean.
His pedal wrote CC data i assume. On the Grid Editor Tab, lower left area you’ll see Velocity… expand that, and look for the CC value their hihat was on. In this case you may want to just eliminate the data instead of edit it.
