EZ drummer crashes Logic X.5.1

Hello and Happy New Year!

I have an interesting issue. I recently upgraded to a new Mac Pro ‘trashcan’ running Mojave – 12 core/128gig of ram.

Any older projects I open run perfectly well until I stop playing the project – then I get the beachball of death that won’t go away. The only way is to force quit and relaunch –

Through a process of elimination I’ve narrowed it down to EZ drummer 2 – which is totally up to date –

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?

Interestingly enough, and out of curiosity, I changed all instances of EZ Drummer 2 to Superior Drummer 3 assigning the same expansions. No more beachball of death . . . . . .

Anyone experience this?
