EZ Drummer cannot find sound files

All of a sudden EZ drummer could not find the sound files. I simply chose to uninstall and install again. Unfortunately the same message appears in Cubase 6.0.7.

Now I have rebooted, uninstalled, rebooted, installed and the registry looks like this:

This looks good, I mean the soundpath is correct. So what’s happening? Is it perhaps a Cubase or Windows 8 thing?

the most likely is that Cubase cannot access the registry (where those keys are located at least). I am unsure Cubase 6.0.7 has been validated for Windows 8 but it looks like it has.

That said the registry extract you posted has some unexpected paths formatting. Also it looks like this is Windows 8 32-bit?

… have you tried running Cubase ‘as an administrator’ to compare the behaviour?

Ah, thank you so much, Rogue. Running Cubase as an administrator did the trick. Funny stuff, this W8, which is indeed the 32-bit version. Apperantly I didn’t try that. I did experiment with running the installs as an administrator, though.
Suppose the same thing goes for Toontrack solo, because I get a similar message.
The formatting suprised me too. In reality there’s only one /. Something funny happened during copy- paste.

thanks for posting back… I’m surprised solo has an issue, I will have to try it under Win8 32-bit (admittedly we have primarily tested Win8 on 64-bit systems).

on a sidenote, I edited your original post, the info there wasn’t particularly sensitive, but it is best not to post your serial number to public forum – while it wouldn’t be sufficient for us to accept a transfer you haven’t authorized, I think it is best to avoid (not just for Toontrack stuff!) 😉

I figured you wanted to know the serial, so you could see I’m not running any warez.
The Toontrack Solo works. It appears I got the wrong VST plugin path (one level too deep). It doesn’t need to be run as Administrator.

Wow…!!!! Three days I’ve bee trying “everything possible”……and after reading this return post from Rogue tech to Evan Still junior….I learned that all I had to do was to run Tracktion 3 as “Administrator”…….Thanks Folks.
