Probably a stupid question but what is with the EZ Drummer groove giving you ranges like 50-140 BPM. They are samples so why would you be limited to only these ranges?
Suggested tempos. Nobody’s gonna call the tempo police if you use them at other tempos.

IMHO I would suggest that a groove played by a ‘real’ drummer at a certain tempo should be used close to the original, otherwise the groove will sound increasingly ‘unreal’ as the tempo is increased or decreased. In other words, the drummer would play the same thing quite differently at a given different tempo. For example, a ballad type (speed) of groove does not sound good (realistic) as a fast rock groove.
Of course I realise the limitations of using premade grooves in EZD or Superior so there is (has to be!) room for reasonable tempo variations.

The tempo will affect the overall feel of a groove. IOW, a slow tempo groove will feel tighter because the tempo will cause “pushed or pulled” hits to be closer to quantized than the original tempo. For the same reason, a fast groove, slowed down a lot will feel sloppier and may need some percentage of quantization done to it.
