I have the Jazz Midi pack. It list a Brush kit but all I get is drum sticks, no brushes. I read somewhere that I need to purchase an EXP pack in order to use them. Why would they have it as available on the Jazz midi pack if it doesn’t work? If I have to purchase the EXP I will. I just want to confirm if this information is accurate.
Thanks Rich
Midi packs are only the drum grooves. You do need to buy the EXP for brushes. Where did you read that the midi pack has brushes?
It is listed in the midi pack as a kit. I selected it and discovered it doesn’t work. I will purchase an EXP pack. Thank you
Are you talking about the audio demos listing Jazz and other EXPs? That’s what EXPs they recorded the demos in.
Midi is just directions on which drum and articulation to hit. If the product you own doesn’t have a brush sound, then the midi cannot not trigger it. It will revert to a regular stick sound instead.
Options are here but they included additional purchases: https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/ez3-is-there-a-way-to-switch-to-brushes-instead-of-sticks/

That is category and not a kit itself. That would mean that the MIDI contained within that category is meant for a brush kit. However, they will still play whatever kit you have loaded
As mentioned earlier, you need a kit with brush articulations to play brush sounds.
