18gb to download. 18gb more to install that 18gb download. You could then “clean up” (delete) that 18gb download after installation.

I am a bit confused on the amount of free hard drive space is needed for EZD3, according to the tune track website the following is required

——–18 GB free disk space (plus 18 GB for download)—— so which is it? 18 or 36?

I use a MacBook Air with only 120 gb hard drive so for me I really need to know before hand.

    Thank you 🙂

You should consider working this problem out if 36GB is an issues for you. You need to download the content and then install it before deleting your download. Even if that works for you, how long can you last with a near full HD?

You can buy a $25 dollar external hard drive nowadays. Just concerned, not for your EZD performance, but overall computer performance in general when you fill up a drive to this degree.

I have a PC hard drive that can easily accommodate both the download files and the installs for both EZ Drummer 2 and 3 and for the time being I’ve left the download files where they are. What I have done however is backed up the downloads to a USB stick as well as an external drive in the event I decide to delete at some point or if the hard drive decides to fail. Also if downloads of EZ Drummer 2 are no longer available I’ll have a backup of those install files if I ever would want to use it again.

I had no idea I could delete the download file after installation! What an idiot I am 😀

So I can delete the downloads for EZD2 and the expansion packs as well?!  wow

To be honest I am a little bit confused now. If I delete the 4gb download for BIG ROCK drums for example, won’t that remove it from my EZ library?

    Can I delete all “updates”?

I am sorry if my questions seem a little bit stupid. computers are not my strong suit, and I really appreciate people who take the time to reply.

By the way ToonTrack staff, I am very happy with EZ drummer and plan to update to EZ3 imminently 😀

Yes, you can delete them all of the downloaded items. Deleting your updates and installers won’t remove them from your library. Your library is installed elsewhere on your computer.

Really?! Im stunned.I took a screen shot of my documents-downloads folder. Toon tracks is 12gb containing all the exz’s.

Im still scared if I delete this I will erase everything? I just need to be 100% sure before hand. Again sorry for my computer stupidity.

    Thank you everyone for helping!

In finder, navigate to Macintosh HD /Library/Application Support/EZDrummer

If you performed a non-custom installation, you should find all your installed sample libraries at that location.

Files that end in .dmg on a Mac are normally install package files.
