Hi,
When using EZ Drummer 2 plugin with Akai MPC Software 2.7, and creating a song with several sequences, the EZ Drummer midi part of the first sequence repeats itself as a loop of the length of this same sequence, although the song goes further and there is no loop programmed either for the MPC sequence or in the Ez Drummer window.
I can’t program a whole song either in EZ Drummer, or even in MPC, using a specific EZ Drummer midi drum pattern for each MPC sequence for example.
In the exemple here under, just bars 1/4 are played, and looped, because the first MPC sequence is 4 bars long, despite the EZ drummer is programmed on 8 bars. But 5/8 are never played. The correct song length is of course specified in EZ Drummer too.
Thank you for your help.
Best wishes,
Fred
Fred, did you figure your problem out yet?
The way you have explained your issue, it’s hard for me to imagine what your problem is. Maybe you should send a screen cap from MPC.
Multiple sequences can mean many things without more information.

Thanked by: Fred ALPIHi Shootiehg,
I made a short videoscreenshot of what happens, but it is too big to be posted here.
Here are three screenshots :
When the MPC song cursor comes to the second sequence (bars 5 to 8), EZD2 loops just on bars 1 to 4.
If I use EZD2 in Ableton live, I have no problem. Same song, same midi files.
I hope this helps too.
Best wishes
Fred
I don’t have an answer for you, but maybe some things to conciser.
In the bottom right of EZD2 your orange “Midi In” is illuminated. That is not necessary when just playing back EZD2. Maybe some hardware/software is sending a midi message to EZD2 that is limiting it’s playback. That’s a complete guess.
Try loading a fresh EZD2 track in MPC, maybe even try a new MPC session as well. Try dragging your midi out of EZD2 directly to a MPC midi/instrument track. And see if EZD2 will trigger the midi files ‘that way’ since your play head in MPC continues past measure 5. I can explain that better if you’re new to EZD2.
These are just things I would check out on my end if I used MPC, which I don’t. Maybe you describing the problem a little better may encourage others to chime in. If my post encourages any other observations on your end, do post then, I’m curious.
Good luck!

Hi Shootiehg,
When Follow host is off, I do not get any sound at all.
I tried on an other song first while putting the midi files in the EZD2 window, same problem occured, it loops
on the first sequence only.
I solved the problem by not putting the midi files in EZD2 window, but directly in MPC’s midi track, with EZD2 as plugin,
and it works fine now.
Best wishes,
Fred ALPI
