For quite a while now, every time I use Tap2Find, somehow the app adds an extra note that I didn’t play an eighth or sixteenth note after each note I play (depending on the quantize setting in Tap2Find). It’s like a MIDI “echo” effect, and it totally messes up the intended groove rendering the feature useless (because the AI finds the wrong drum pattern based on too many notes.)
I don’t know why this is happening. I don’t have a MIDI echo or loop happing in any other aspect of Logic Pro – no “double notes” happening when I record MIDI on tracks, even on the one I have EZ drummer 2 on.
It’s a pretty simple setup: Komplete keyboard into an iMac running the latest version of Logic. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
running Logic Pro 10.7.4 on OS 11.6.5 here (also with a Komplete Keyboard) and I am getting the same strange double-note behaviour with Tap2Find in EZdrummer 2, not MIDI Tracks.
It’s not happening with Tap2Find in EZdrummer 3 or Superior Drummer 3 and I haven’t noticed such a thing earlier. I will forward to my colleagues.
BR,
John

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanFYI!
I have the same problem and contacted support.
They replied to me:
“Thanks for your email and sorry for the trouble. This is a confirmed bug in the current version of EZD2. A fix will be made available in the next EZD2 update, however we do not have the confirmed release date. The Product Manager will display the new update as “not installed” to the left of the PM once it is available.”

Hello there.
Any news on this issue?
It is quite annoying.
Thx
I have the same problem. As a programmer, I can see what the issue is, it is registering the midi key off as a key on, hence the duplicate note when you release the key.
Should be an easy fix, but nothing so far after a year and a half. Come on Toontrack, sort this bug out!
I’ve had this for about half a year now too.
It makes the tap to find feature completely useless. :/
Has anyone had any solutions yet?
This is a bug in the latest version of EZdrummer 2. If you use a MIDI controller to record notes in Tap-2-Find, you will get double triggers. The bug was fixed in the major update to EZdrummer 3, but as EZdrummer 2 is a discontinued product, it is unlikely that it will receive an update that would fix the bug.
This is not an issue in the older version 2.1.8 which is still available in Product Manager.

Thanked by: mattymattHey Rickard, thanks for your reply!
I’ve since downloaded and installed the 2.1.8 version and the double triggers has been fixed!
However, I’ve now lost all of the percussion samples and I’ve reinstalled it a couple times now with the same error message.
Is there a workaround for this?
