I had to get rid of windows 7 and install windows 10. After installing it, i had to re install pro tools 10 then download and install all my EZ Products again. EZ Drummer and many packs, as well as EZ MIX and Vocal Toolbox. The issue is, when i open a session which i used EZ Drummer in that sesstion Pro tools says “The plug-in could not be made active because the plugin is not present in the plug-ins folder” Last time in windows 7 I just let it install where it wanted and it worked. This time, pro tolls 10 says it is not in the plugins folder. But i cant figure out which folder it wants. Do i have to reinstall all of the packs and browse to a different folder than default “C Program Files, X86 Toontrack etc???
You did not mention if your OS is 32/64bit. It says somewhere, maybe in the EZD2 manual “if you’re not sure, install both”. In Product Manager you can find this tab for more info…
No install issues for me here on Win10/ProTools, btw. Let us know if this did not solve your issue.

I have windows 10 installed now, which is 64 bit. Working on this more today to see if i can solve. I appreciate you offering help. i will post back here if i get it to work. Trying a few things. as well as a fresh install of all the software, maybe the path got messed up. Windows 10 is about as stable as every girl i ever dated.
Hi, I am having the same exact issue. Upgraded to windows 10, then re-installed Protools 10. Ez drummer nor Superior Drummer 3 will show up as a plug in. I get the same message. Pro tools says “The plug-in could not be made active because the plug-in is not present in the plug-ins folder”. Just wondering how you fixed? Suggestions please.
My OS is 64 bit Windows 10 however, Pro Tools 10 is only 32 bit, so i use the 32 bit version of EZ Drummer. I got it to load finally but when loading up kits it gives me a new error.
“You are running a 32 bit version of EZ Drummer, because if this, there is a limit to the total amount of sounds ez drummer instances can load.
Please unload drums or other instances of EZ Drummer and try again. ” or it gives me “Not enough memory” if i try to load any samples from the Dark Matter kit. All i do to crash it, is to either switch between kit pieces or try to switch any drum in the kit to one from “Dark Matter”
I currently have loaded “DFH, Death Metal, Dark Matter, Metal Machine, METAL, and PROGRESSIVE” I got it to install but it keeps crashing.
I have in the past always used all cyms from DFH, and Kicks from Metal, and Snares fromProgressive. but now it will not let me mix and match without crashing from the above mentioned errors. I cant even use Dark Matter kit or any piece of it, as it automatically crashed and says i dont have enough memory.
Well, Pro Tools 10 can theoretically occupy 4GB but real-world scenarios would be rather 2-3GB and that will include everything that loads within Pro Tools 10. Is your session heavy or does this happen in an empty session with nothing but EZdrummer 2 loaded?
BTW, where is your EZdrummer HOME folder containing Sounds and MIDI located on your system?

I’m having similar issue.
Have EZ drummer 3 installed.
installed today protools 10 on my windows 7 computer.
I make an instrument track stereo, insert, multichannel plugin, instrument…
I see Xpand2 and the like but ez drummer is missing.
help!
could this be a setting issue? I used protools 8LE for the longest time and solved lots of issues with settings on new song even. I’m stumped 🤔
Hi,
if you check the ‘Supported Hosts’ list on the EZdrummer 3 product page, under ‘WILL MY DAW WORK WITH EZDRUMMER 3?’, it lists Pro Tools from version 12.
I believe this is because the AAX plug-in format introduced with Pro Tools 10 was 32-bit only, then it was a mixed 32/64bit AAX format in Pro Tools 11, to finally be 64-bit only with Pro Tools 12. The EZdrummer 3 plug-in is 64-bit only.

Thanks John,
I just got a reply from support as well. You’re right this is a protools issue but good news for me there is an update I can get from protools 10 that enable the 64bit compatibility. Using a dinosaur of a computer probably doesn’t help but hey it was top of the line(ten plus years ago)
