Hey people, I used to notice this with the old EZ Player but its twice as bad with EZ Drummer 2. I’m using it in conjunction with FL Studio and NI Komplete Audio 6 and when I add other audio tracks in FL Studio (guitars, bass etc) EZ Drummer starts missing notes all over the place. The fix is always to drag the parts to create midi tracks in fl studio and then it works fine but I don’t actually want to have to do that…
But there has to be a reason / fix for this? I’m sure its all buffer settings and whatnot. I’m using it on a beast gaming PC so it’s not for lack of processing power.
Cheers
Simon
Hi Simon,
not using FL Studio very often these days but I can’t say it’s something I’ve seen.
Which Version of FL Studio are you on?
Which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer plug-in window?
Are you talking about the Song Track in EZdrummer 2 skipping notes or the step sequencer in the channel rack?

John

Hi John, thanks for the response. Using FL Studio 12 and the EZ Drummer verison:
EZdrummer plug-in version 2.1.8 (build 21073) [64-bit VST]
Yes, I’m talking about Song Track in EZ Drummer2. If I drag the parts over to make midi parts in FL Studio and then delete them in Song Track it works fine and stops losing notes. Weird!
This used to happen with EZPlayer as well and the fix was the same – had to drag all the parts into FL Studio to make midi tracks.
Hi Simon,
I’ve been trying to reproduce all morning here but I simply can’t.
I started a new Project by loading the FL Studio Metal Template, replaced the drum sampler with EZdrummer 2, tried different EZX:s including the core library. Searched for some busy Jam Tracks which I put on the EZdrummer 2 Song Track and ran through them several times.
What I did notice is that EZdrummer 2 doesn’t seem to like the ‘Smart disable’ feature in FL Studio’s Audio>CPU Settings.
Of course, lowering the Buffer size too low causes drop-outs but that sounds more like crackles and pops rather than skipped notes.
I am using FL Studio 20.1.1 build 175, though.

John

Hey John thanks for your efforts. I think I just managed to fix it by changing the Process Buffer to 512 Samples in Komplete Audio 6 ASIO settings. So far so good. I’ll give it a good work out and see if this is the fix.
Cheers

I was also having the same problem in FL Studio 20. It was like EZ Drummer was just not playing random notes… that being said i fixed the problem by going under the plugin settings in the top left of the plugin window and in the troubleshooting tab there is an option for “use fixed buffer size” or something like that and the problem went away the instant i clicked it on.

Thanked by: Rick Scicluna and DangerdaveThis seemed to work for me! I had the same issue and it drove me nuts since I had bought it. Now it is good. No skipping beats. Thank you so much!
