Hi, I had made a song with EZ Drummer 2 in Pro tools 12 with a tempo of 115 bpm. Later after recording most of the instruments, I had found the song to be too slow so I bumped up the tempo to 130 bpm in Pro tools. Now the problem I’m having is that EZ Drummer wont follow the tempo change. I have it set on Follow Host and it wont. Is there an easy fix for this?
Thanks
Hi,
the EZdrummer 2 plugin receives Tempo from the host, so this shouldn’t really be possible.
Is the MIDI on the Ezdrummer 2 Song Track or is it on the Pro Tools Instrument Track?
Is the Instrument Track Sample-based or Tick-based?
I can take a look at the Session if you ZIP archive it (without the Audio Files) and attach to a post here.

Hi John, thanks for replying. I used EZ Drummer 2 originally on an instrument track but also in trying to fix this, I tried using the midi on a midi track and neither wants to fall in line. The track is tick based. I’ll try to get the session zipped to here. Thanks!
Hi John, I just tried to upload a zip file of a session but it said exceeds max allowable size. When someone does something like this, would I need to delete 90% of the tracks or what is the preferred way of doing this? Thanks
Removed most of my tracks and still cant upload the session. What is the allowable upload able file size here? Thanks
You only need to keep the EZdrummer 2 track. Can you create a new project with only EZdrummer 2 and recreate the problem you have? If so, post that project.

When I try to upload the file, I get a File Extension Error. Can you advise?
Thanks
I’m such a moron .. LOl ok, finally got it zipped and attached. Thanks for bearing with me. Any insight of what I’m doing wrong with not being able to get EZ Drummer 2 to follow the tempo of Pro Tools would be much appreciated. When I increase the tempo of pro tools, it seems that EZD2 plays some other tempo …and not even what was of the original.
Thanks
Hi,
sorry for the delay.
When I open your Session, the MIDI on the Song Track plays back as expected, at 130 bpm as entered in the Pro Tools Conductor track.
If I change that Tempo in Pro Tools, the MIDI in EZdrummer 2 plays back accordingly. The only way for me to force some kind of Tempo mis-match between Pro Tools and the EZdrummer 2 plugin is if I preview a groove in EZdrummer 2 with the ”Preview Original Tempo’ button on.
I really can’t see what can be causing what you describe.
Your Session is 44,1kHz/24bit, 30fps with Delay Compensation Off. Does that tell you something?
Do you have any kind of external clocking?

John
