My EZ drummer is not providing any audio over AIRPLAY.
All other applications are working over AIRPLAY.
I just works with the Mac internal speakers.
I need to use AIPLAY because of the general studio set up.
How can I resolve that?
Thanks a lot
Christian
Do you have a DAW running through AirPlay? Can you use EZD as a plug-in on a track?
What are your settings in EZD audio/midi settings?
Have you tried setting up an Aggregate Device using AirPlay as an output?
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
Brad,….thanks for answering!…appreciate your support!
I am not using an DAW.
I have a plain MacBook Pro with OS11.x. and the just bought/installed EZdrummer 2
I cannot find any Audio-Midi settings in EZdrummer 2….at least not in the “settings” tab.
I also can not go to the “full screen mode”…which is also strange.
I did not try to “set up an Aggregate Device using AirPlay as an output?”
honestly I am not skilled to do that,….and I expect such a pretty expensive SW drum package to “plus and play” 🙂
How could we proceed?….Thanks a lot!
Ok,…I found the settings in the top task bar…
there seems to be the problem in the AUDIO settings…I cannot see the AIRPLAY as an output device here….just only the SPEAKERS.
How can I add it ?
Thanks a lot…

So honestly I am not sure why it doesn’t show as an audio device. Some software Apple doesn’t allow access to. But all is not lost.
In finder go into > Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
(make sure Window Audio Devices is selected)
Could you post a screen print of your audio setup.

Another (maybe simpler option) would be to use EZDrummmer as a AU plug-in in Garage Band, which you should have or can install. It should have access to AirPlay.

it has nothing to do with EZ drummer. In order to route CoreAudio through AirPlay, you would need to install a virtual audio driver supports AirPlay. I’d be very leery of using airplay in any audio production environment, due to latency and performance.

My response of using an aggregate configuration was more curiosity whether it would work. But using it as a plug-in in GB should make it feasible, of course there will the problem of latency in a real-time environment, which I doubt would be easy to solve.

Hey Brad,
Using an aggregate would not negate the need for a virtual driver. A virtual driver would still be required to have CoreAudio consider it as a device that it can route through.
As well, as a general practice, I would not consider aggregating two devices that are drastically unequal. This would create various latency and performance issues. It would be recommended to stick with a single device in this case.
