Just purchased EZBass. First time use…
EZBass notes sound fine when recording but on playback, the same notes truncate… first note sounds full tone then the rest of the notes sound like I am palm muting the strings. The MIDI notes appear normal length however. Also, if I just load an EZBass loop from my Americana soundpack, it plays back fine.
Also, if I drag that MIDI event I recorded that is sounding palm muted into EZKeys, it still sounds truncated there as well. But if I record from EZ Keys onto the EZ Keys track it plays back normal. And if put that EZKeys MIDI into the EZBass track it plays back fine.
So seems like the EZBass input articulation is set to Palm Mute input automatically and I need to override that…?
My DAW is Studio One.

Hi there,
In Studio One; Try filtering/ignoring aftertouch in the Configure External Device window for the MIDI device you’re recording with.
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
I have the same issue with EZBass and Cubase Pro (V13.0.41). When I try to record bass sounds with my MIDI keyboard, it all sounds palm muted, as if the length of the note is somehow not recorded. EZBAss works fine when I use it with the internal grooves, but as soon as I want to add something via my keyboard, it all sounds very “plucky” and muted.
BTW: The same is true for EZKeys2.
What can I do to use EZBass also with my keyboard?
Many thanks in advance.

If it is happening in both EZ Keys and EZBass, the best suggestion I can offer is to drag the region from the timeline from either Into your DAW and check to see if there are any MIDI CC values present. In particular, you are looking for the one that controls damping in EZBass which is probably the same as the softness in EZ Keys.

You are filtering out after touch in your DAW and it’s still doing this? Does it do when you use your keyboard in EZBass standalone?
