I can’t seem to be able to click anywhere in the grid editor or the song track without it going all the way back to bar 1. Is there a way to play from where the cursor is located? I’m using Cubase and it is NOT set to cursor “return to start”
Thanks!
Hi,
you can use Alt+Spacebar for Pause/Play (from current Playhead position) and Shift+Spacebar for Play/Stop (from previous playhead position).

I’m having issues with the playhead too. Alt-Return sends the playhead back to the start, but the view doesn’t go with it! Then I press play (Alt-Space) and the playhead jumps back to a random place in the song where I was last working. There doesn’t seem to be any behaviour options for the playhead and it’s bugging the hell out of me, not to mention wasting lots of my valuable time!

Thanked by: Chenzo4uYep. I’m using the tracker page (within a Reaper session). I edit a note, say bar 17, and EZBass pings to bar 70 or some random place. Can’t seem to find a way to stop this. It makes it unusable in practice.

EZbass version: 1.1.8
Operating system: Windows 10
…it works fine in the MIDI grid editor, so at least I can work with it there. Just the tracker window isn’t behaving properly – random scrolling/jumping along the timeline.
This happens to me any time I do ANYTHING in the grid of the audio tracker. Also, if I try to place a note near another note, it puts the new note where the old one was, and moves the old note to where I tried to place the new one. Can’t drag either of those notes anywhere. In the middle of all this, I’m dealing with the grid snapping away from what I’m working on with literally every single action. The program is honestly unusable like this. Is there a way to fix these issues?
I’m having the op’s issue with it scrolling back to bar one every time I try to do anything in the grid editor. It’s maddening. As others have said, it makes it unusable in practice. I want to love this program but this has GOT to be fixed. I’ve only seen a couple threads about this, which is surprising. Any help is appreciated. If I’m causing this problem with a setting, I’d love to know…
Sadly I’m also facing this problem and as others say, it has made using EZbass so aggravating as it is quite time consuming to have to click around to find where I last was, over and over and over. I’ve spent almost 3 full days now trying to remedy this with no luck. At this point I’m waving the white flag of surrender and parking EZBass til a new version comes out that hopefully fixes things.
Is the issue that it scrolls to the playhead? If the “Auto-Scroll” option is on (in the Track menu for Grid Editor / Song Track and in the Options menu for the Audio Tracker), it scrolls to the playhead when playback is on (or whenever the DAW’s playhead position changes if Follow Host is on).

Oh how I wish it scrolled to the playhead. I use EZBass in standalone mode (my primary DAW is Adobe Audition which is incompatible w/ the Toontrack suite of apps so I’ve always used the EZ apps in standalone mode and bounced the finished product into my multitrack project in Audition).
The issue with EZBass scrolling back to the very beginning happens no matter if the Auto-Scroll option is turned on or off. This only happens using the Auto Tracker tab which is the primary function I use EZBass for. The moment I edit, drag, or alter a note in any way, as soon as that happens I’m immediately kicked back to the very start. I can’t emphasize how much time and how many various options I’ve toggled and tested under the Track, Settings and View menus to remedy this but no matter what, the moment I edit or move anything in the Audio Tracker tab, regardless of where the Playhead is situated, regardless of whether Auto-Scroll mode is on or off, it always kicks me back to the very start of my project (which is usually many bars of silence so I have to zoom out quite a bit and scroll right to find my place again literally with each and every edit/drag/etc I make.
This issue eventually made using EZBass too tedious and time consuming for practical use with large projects, unfortunately. I would actually find some relief in knowing I’m the problem even if the problem remained undiagnosed, but in Googling around and reading on forums and reddit (and here) it seems plenty of others are running into this identical issue, and despite all the conversations I’ve read it seems no solution is ever found so who knows.
I’m on an iMac using the current release of EZBass (1.2.0) on the latest version of Sonoma and all my other EZ apps work flawlessly (I love them!), this issue with EZbass is the only problem I’ve experienced w/ Toontrack software which is extra painful as the EZ Bass Audio Tracker is probably the most amazing functionality out of the Toontrack programs I own/use/love.
regardless of whether Auto-Scroll mode is on or off, it always kicks me back to the very start of my project
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Agreed this is the MOST ANNOYING thing editing inside ezBass Audio Tracker. Even just shortening the notes when zoomed in kicks you back to start! Please, please, please fix this!
We have found that rescaling the GUI after the initial tracker analysis has been made can cause scrolling issues like you have described. On Windows, rescaling can happen automatically when the plug/standalone is opened if the Windows scale is not 100%.
If anyone can reproduce the issue without the GUI having been rescaled, please post a video (or very detailed info and maybe a project) to help us find the cause. Thanks.
