EZ Bass ARA version?

Has there been any discussion about adding ARA support to EZ Bass? It would be really nice to have Pro Tools and EZ Bass timelines always in sync (like Melodyne for example), not need to manually record or import the MIDI track into EZ Bass, and be able to update the Pro Tools timeline using ARA commit, etc.

ARA is for audio (mostly FX)… not MIDI software instruments. EZBass already follows a DAW using the Follow Host functionality.

You are correct that ARA is for FX versus VI. What I’m seeking is bi-directional timeline chase like Melodyne ARA, and also better drag and drop of MIDI regions between Pro Tools and EZ Bass, but that’s a Pro Tools issue. I’m really just floating these ideas in case I’ve missed something. Best regards.

MIDI instruments cannot control their host, do mostly to sandboxing. As far as drag and drop goes, that is a DAW situation as most DAW‘s do not support drag and drop to a plugin

Agree and my apologies; I’ve conflated the term “ARA” with desirable features that some ARA implementations implement. Specifically, for EZ Bass I would like my DAW timeline to follow EZ Bass when I’m editing a song in the EZ Bass timeline. EZ Bass can follow my DAW (Follow Host), just not vice versa. I’ve mentioned Melodyne ARA because when I navigate the Melodyne timeline in this mode Pro Tools follows nicely.

As you’ve noted, the lack of bi-directional MIDI drag-and-drop is a separate issue caused by certain DAW software and not EZ Bass.

I’ll close this post or delete if possible. Thanks again.
