Yes. You can install EZdrummer 2 sounds on an external hard drive. You can also install EZdrummer 1 sound libraries on an external libraries as well.

If you have any EZdrummer 1 or EZX libraries installed, see this FAQ on how to move them and reset the path in EZdrummer 2:

    Thanks a lot Scott!

In the EZ1 manual there was written it wasn’t passable. :)
But doesn’t matter, thanks again for the link, very helpful, this means I can do the upgrade, so little space left on my system SSD.

    Have a nice day!

I’m not sure where in the EZD1 manual it says you can’t install on an external hard drive? I’ve been running EZD sounds on an external hard drive since 2006 on multiple computer systems.

I could be wrong, but go for instance here:
http://images.thomann.de/pics/prod/221685_ezdrummer_manual.pdf on paragraph 2.4: “The sounds themselves are installed in /Library/ApplicationSupport/EZdrummer/Sounds/ and cannot be relocated.Doing so will render the program unusable.”

Maybe and old copy? Anyway, Im really interested on the topic, this means I can relocate the EZ1 library also. How did you do that?

    Mac. Ok.

On PC, it’s always been possible to install to an external hard drive.

On Mac, you could use the soundmover utility (available in the latest EZD1 update 1.3.3) and move them post install.

Moving of sounds for EZD2 can be done as stated in the FAQ.

Done already, moved the EZ1 first, bought the upgrade in the meantime.

Just a feedback: the very cool thing is that, having moved the EZ1 library first, EZ2 library went on the external HD already. :)
