I am using Cubase 10.5 pro and Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. I am running a pc with quad core Intel Core i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz with 12 GB of ram. I have been running EZkeys (sometimes multiple instances), EZdrummer 2, and multiple instances of EZmix along with other plug ins and VSTs. No problems with pops and crackles. I run EZbass alone with a midi part playing in the track window and it barely plays while popping and crackling along. I am using the ASIO from focusrite with EZbass and everything is set to default. Any ideas as to the problems?
What is your ASIO buffer set to? Have you tried to increase the buffer?

I’m seeing the same in Standalone Darryl using a Focusrite Scarlett 3rd gen on Win 10,when I try to change the driver to ASIO,I have a full laptop crash.
Works fine for me as a VST2 plugin in Cakewalk though, but cracks and pops in Standalone.
Same as you as regards all the other EZ Line products, all work fine.
I’ve started a separate thread in this forum.
Cheers

I am going to try it at 1024 just to see if it works
I tried the 1024 with the same results. And the audio performance meter in Cubase is showing extreme peak overload. When EZbass is deleted from the track it barely moves. None of the other products show any movement in this meter.
I know it says in you post that you have version 1.0.2 but have you checked in the bottom left corner of the EZbass interface that is actually says 1.0.2?

Yes sir it says 1.0.2. I may have solved the issue I was having. I removed the EZbass software from the computer and restarted the computer after completely shutting it down. I next reinstalled EZbass but this time I used the default instillation location. Which was to my C drive. Due to space limitations I try to keep as much as possible off that drive and had installed it in my D drive with all my other VSTs, effects, and recording software except Cubase which is on the C drive.
After the software was installed I did a reboot and then opened the stand alone EZbass. I left everything on the default settings except changed to ASIO and still using the Focusrite ASIO driver.

Buffer Size: 256 *
*I left this set to the default as I had tried it at all the higher settings before and it still popped and crackled.*

After this I played EZbass from my midi control keyboard and no issues found.
Next came Cubase 10.5 and a new project loaded. I recorded an 8 bar midi piano part using EZkeys and copied it over to EZbass I used the drum and keys function and added the bass line to the EZbass timeline. Played both parts and sweet mother it had no problems with crackles. And the audio meter in Cubase showed normal values. No stress. So I wonder if there was some issue with installing the software on the other larger drive? It’s not causing a problem with any other Toontrack products being on there nor any other VSTs. I will see how it goes moving forwards. Thanks guys.

I do not think that was the problem but I’m happy that you got it sorted!

I was having the same issue with Ezbass in Cubase 10.5
I deleted EZbass from the song, closed the song, closed cubase and then re-opened Cubase and the song. Added EZBass again and so far not had any issues.

This PHENOMENAL software package was doing the same for me – stand-alone and within DAW’s. I tried everything I could to get it resolved ahead of reinstalling. Post reinstallation has been working really well, albeit I’ve not really pushed it, yet. It would stall, click, pop upon simply pushing play; however, does not now and that’s a huge plus. AWESOME, extremely well thought out program. Thanks, Toontrack!
Hi, I’m encountering regular pops and clicks with EzBass 1.1.3 Running in Fruity Loops 20.9. On Windows 11.
I’ve tried various ASIO modes with ASIO4ALL v2, FL Studio ASIO and Primary Sound Driver.
I found ASIO4ALL cleared this problem on EzDrummer (well, mostly, I think so. Haven’t heard it in a while).
ASIO Buffer Size = 2048 Samples.
But when I listen to my EzBass trracks the pop/click intermittently occurs.
I’ve tried a reinstall.
Currently it is an unusable instrument. Any advice please?
Oh.. I just swapped with another bass and getting similar sounds.
Sorry, I have looked in the wrong direction by the looks of it.
Thanks for looking in.
I am having the same issue, EZ Bass running a midi track in Cubase Pro 12. Has someone found a solution?
Same here.
Klicks and pops, using win 11 and studio one 6.5
Tried all the buffer sizes with the UA volt 2.
No other instrument does this and I have a ACER Nitro 5 gaming PC from last year.
Like I said I have never had this problem with any other instrument software.
Hi,
no problems with the standalone?
What’s the library location?
Which sample rate are you working in?

To answer:
no problems with the standalone? I tried it now and still klicks and pops.
What’s the library location? Default location, havent changed it, also reinstalled it as someone above said it worked for him. Didnt work for me.
If I drag the midi to my daw and use modo bass it does not klick or pop. It only klicks and pops when i listen to the midi in the software and that is frustrating as I cant edit anytning because it sounds bad. Its very sad because I love the program and it costed me a bit of money.
Which sample rate are you working in?
Ive tried it at up to 2048 and I usually work with 64 and sometimes if the project have many tracks I use 128. at 48K.
So to be clear, if I record the bass with a guitar and transform it to midi in the software I can drag the midi and edit it in my daw and its no problem, when I want to play it back in the software ezbass it klicks and pops.
