It depends on what you want to do with these audio loops.

Do you want to layer them into a song? With S3 drum sounds/parts? Do you want to use them as grooves and have S3 play its sounds? If the latter, the audio wav files would need to be imported, one at a time, into the S3 tracker and Tracker would need to convert the audio to MIDI. Seems time consuming for me but maybe not for you.

    Thank you.

This external collection Im considering comes with construction kits and loops .wav or rex. Sort of your classic audio construction kits/samples/loops collection.

    I want to:

-Be able to trigger the samples/kits/one shots in this external collection but triggered with SD3 and then record them as MIDI on Ableton somehow.

-Be able to convert loops of this external collection to MIDI and trigger the same sounds used in the loops which are part of the external collection. Example, . wav loop of Congas. Not sure in what order this happens but  convert Congas loop to MIDI and have it use the same .wav sample it was using in the loop (the sample will be available on the collection).

    Thoughts?

To import .wav files and create a “new” drum/instrument use the “Add Instrument” on the drums tab. https://www.toontrack.com/manual/superior-drummer-3/3/3-4-drums-tab-header-bar

Or to replace/add to stack of an existing drum in a kit, simply drag an drop your sample (.wav) to a drum in the UI and follow the prompts accordingly. I would then assign the MIDI note you want trigger your samples.

As Scott indicated, this may take considerable effort.

As Scott indicated as well, you would then import the loops in Tracker and convert them to MIDI. The video you found shows how to do this step

Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
    OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
    Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
    2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
