Are you exporting from Garageband or EZD2? You’re missing some details as to exactly how you’re exporting from. “I solo my channels” Where, in EZ Drummer 2 or GB (and so on)?  Where is your midi? In EZ or GB?

You seem to have clarified you’re doing it correctly by saying you’re exporting audio files from your DAW which has tempo changes and not from EZD2 which does not support tempo changes.

After backing up your original file, let me know if these workarounds sound intuitive to you. Also, I don’t know how elaborate your stems need to be, so I might not be able to compensate for an elite workflow.

Are you routing EZD2 out correctly to GB so you can Isolate each individual track? If not, learn that workflow, see attached if you’re not sure. I’ve never done it in GB before myself. If the bug happens when hitting a solo/mute button in GB, try deactivating that channel instead of muting it, if GB is capable.

Does GB have this tempo bug when using the solo/mute button in the EZD2 interface?

If you’re not tweaking your sounds in GB and EZD2 is processing most of your sounds. Can you not just have EZ on a Stereo track and solo each individual channel in the EZD2 Mixer Tab and Export from GB? Or can you not just make the sounds ‘dry’ in EZD2, export the aforementioned way, then re-import your stems and tweak them in GB?

Is your midi in EZ? Try dragging it to Garageband where your tempo changes are. And just have GB trigger EZ, instead of EZ processing the midi.

If it’s still buggy you could do some crazy workarounds with your midi files. Since you said, you can do legit exports without using solo/mute buttons. You could save a separate EZD2 Project file for each kit piece, say 7 different files. Open each of those files individually. Select All in Song Track, Right click>Remove Notes and remove all notes except the kit piece you want to export. Export each individual EZD2 project file in GB until you’ve build the entire drum kit. That’s extreme…lol. But if you’re against a deadline and a bug in the software, maybe that works.

There are a lot of particular workflows with exporting stems. You should describe your workflow better if any of the above doesn’t help.

Have access to another DAW or have Superior?

You bring up some really good points. I clearly wasn’t specific enough, and for that, I apologize. I will attach some screen shots to ensure that what I think I am saying is correct..

I export from the EZ drummer plugin within my DAW. My midi track is 100% purely within EZ drummer.

By saying this, I may have just answered my question. To clarify, you’re saying that EZ drummer doesn’t recognize tempo changes in the exporting process, but Garageband does? I also only export my stems in .WAV format, which may be relevant to why I’m experiencing this.

I’m checking out your video. You’re incredibly knowledgeable! Thank you so much for going into such detail to help me out.

The track is fairly intricate as it’s a “symphonic black metal” themed tune. If worst comes to worst, I’ll have to export the way you stated before with the 7+ tracks. Unfortunately, It’ll be way more than 7 tracks given that I’m using the “Metal!” sound pack. lol.

I’ll post the solution to the issue as soon as I’m able to do so.

    Thank you again.

I don’t have a video for your specific issue yet. You’re missing a simple step in your workflow. Solo your channel in EZD2 as you are. Then solo EZD2 in GB, then “export from GarageBand” not from the song track of ez drummer. Let me know if that does it for you.

*** I do not know if ez drummer will “follow host” when exporting since ez drummer is not playing in real time when it exports. Therefore, export your audio from your DAW, not the plugin (EZD2) that is in your DAW.

YOU, my friend, are an absolute God-send. You’ve officially earned my lifetime support. Thank you so so much! That was the fix I was in need of. I truly didn’t even think of that. I suppose things can get murky when working with two variables. (Garageband and a plugin). Now, I will start my endeavour on solving the output issue I have in GB. I can’t for the life of me figure that out. I’m sure it’s an easy fix that one of your YT videos goes over. Thank you again!

That’s great news! Feel free to come back to this thread and ask. I am not a GB guru, but general DAW knowledge I can screen.
