You have created bass MIDI in EZbass standalone? Or created MIDI with EZbass loaded as a VSTi in Studio One?

If the former, I would just select ask the MIDI on the Song Track and drag it to a User MIDI folder in the EZbass  MIDI browser. When you load EZbass as a VSTi in Studio One, the User MIDI will be there.

If the latter, you should be able to drag and drop from the EZbass Song Track to Studio One.

Hi Scott.  I too am a newbie.  Only spent a couple of hours with EZbass.  I’ve created a MDI bass line and cannot transfer onto a track in my DAW (Studio One).  I loaded as a VSTi.  When I left click and drag from EZbass, it drags 12 tracks!  I only want one track.  What am I doing wrong?  I can’t find anything in the settings.  Thanks.  Paul

12 Tracks! That doesn’t seem right. I don’t use Studio One so maybe it’s a setting there. What are on the tracks? Can you post a screenshot?

Hi Scott,  It’s a blurred pic (didn’t have enough hands) but this is half-way through a Drag & Drop.  It doesn’t matter if I take it from the Song Track or the Grooves Window – it will not transfer one track only.  Worse than that, it’s playing more than one bass line at a time as if it’s remembered the Grooves I’ve experimented with!

Hi Scott, I should have mentioned that I have EZkeys & EZDrummer 2 and when I Drag & Drop from those programs, there is no problem – just a single track.

I’ve checked through Studio One Preferences etc. but cannot a setting that’s causing this (still could be Studio One though).

I can’t say I’ve come across this before. Since I don’t use Studio One, I’ll have to forward this to Toontrack Support unless another user can chime in with a suggestion.

    Ok. From Support:

The cause of this can be that permissions in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZbass are not good, that existing files there cannot be deleted/overwritten. The MIDI drag from EZbass to Studio One creates a MIDI file in that location. Check the Properties > Security area to change for that EZbass folder so it has read+write or administrator permissions and it should work then.

    Hi Scott,

Please see attached Security Settings for EZBASS.  The only thing I changed was to add ‘Write’ to the setting.  I guess there’s something else because I tried opening a brand new song and did a Drag & Drop of the MIDI Groove to track.  There were multiple versions of bass tracks.

Tell me… can I simply uninstall EZBASS and re-install to correct this?

    Thanks, Paul

That looks like the wrong folder. You want C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZbass and not the folder in C:\Program Files\Toontrack\EZbass. The ProgramData folder may be a hidden folder that you need to “show”.

    • Open File Explorer options from Control Panel
    • Then to View Tab.
    • Uncheck “Hide protected Operating system files” and click on “Show hidden files and folders”
    • Press Yes and then OK.

    The ProgramData should show then.

    Hi Scott,

I made a change in the Security Settings.  But initially it didn’t work.  So I tried experimenting in Traktion Waveform DAW.  It worked perfectly!  So, I then went back into Studio One and in a new song added a bass track with new groove and it transferred to a single track OK.   I have no idea how it’s fixed itself.

Hopefully you won’t hear from me about this again 🙂

    Thanks for your help.
