EXD2 Logic pro X playhead sync and plugin window resolution

Hi! I’ve been using Ezdrummer for many years and i love it!

This week i tried moving from my gigantic pc to a new macbook air to make a portable song writing setup and trying out Logic Pro X.

Everything works now but there’s two problems.

The main one is that when i drag the playhead in the plugin window logic doesn’t follow, it just keeps playing from wherever it is in the project, so if i want to try some ezkeys tracks over my already put ezdrummer tracks, i need to close the plugin windows and move the main playhead to wherever in the song that is. This worked perfect on windows with reaper :/

 

The second is the low resolution of the plugin, it’s really grainy in the windows, and i can live with it, but it feels like it’s scaling something wrong for some reason. It takes up almost all of my screen and the text is a bit hard to read.

Disclaimer, i’m really new to working with audio on mac so this might be stupid questions. But it’s so frustrating when everyone is “just get a mac, everything just works” and i’ve been googling bizarre problems for a few hours now haha!

I’m on a macbook m1 air 2020, lates big sur and latest logic pro x and ezdrummer (fresh install today so couldn’t really NOT update anything hehe)

Hi,

The host can’t know where the playhead in the plug is and the plug can’t set the host’s playhead position, not even in Reaper on Windows. It’s a limitation of AU/VST/AAX.

EZD2 does not contain “Retina images” so it could be a bit grainy, but most texts should be in high resolution. Does it look the same in the standalone?

Wow, man do i feel stupid… Just like you said it works the same on reaper on my main machin…

I think i got confused because i only got Ezkeys in the latest black friday sale and haven’t really used both at the same time until now. Buy yeah i’m an idiot.

Also yeah the app looks the same in standalone, and also on my main machines 27″ 1440p display if i look really close it’s the same grainyness in the text fields. It’s just more apparent on my 13″ laptop.
