Hi there, hope everyone is doing well.
I create my drum blocks and finish a song in EZdrummer and use follow Host.
I then drag and drop all the blocks into the EZ drummer track into Studio one.
It normally drags all the blocks into the track individually and today something is causing
it to drag them into the track as one long block. i am hoping someone may know if i messed
with a setting that is causing this and if they would know how to changed the drag and drop behaviour back
to the was i need it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
cheers
Rick
Which version of Studio One are using? There was an update to Studio One last week. Have you applied the update and did the issue start happening afterwards?

Hi,
from your screen shot it seems like all parts/blocks are selected on the EZdrummer 2 Song Track (they are all highlighted) and that would be an explanation.

Yes, i used to highlight/select all the Parts/block then drag and drop in the track and they would
stay individual.
Is there another way to drop the entire string into the track?
The copy and paste also joins them all.
I updating studio one 5 right now
How do i find out the version of EZdrummer? I have no updated to install
Cheers
Rick
Well, selecting all parts and dragging them at once to outside of the plug-in will result in one Song Track MIDI file, that’s the intended behaviour.

My Studio One and EZDrummer interaction has also changed. When I drag the instrument (EZdrummer) to a track like I did in the past I now have drums playing through a track on studio one and the drums will play on EZdrummer. If I mute the track on Studio one only the EZdrummer will play. If I don’t mute the track I have a doubled up set of drums and it red lines the drum track and distorts really bad. My old songs (prior to update) did not do this. I’m sure it is some setting on one of the two pieces of software I cannot locate it.
Thank you
Rob

EZdrummer version: 2.2.1
Operating system: macOS Catalina (10.15)
Deselect “Follow Host” in the EZDrummer plug-in. That will stop the MIDI in the plug-in track from playing.

Thank you, I gave that a try and no luck. It still continues to do the same thing.
These little problems are annoying but can be solved. Is there anything else that I might try?
Thank you,
Rob

So when the plug in is open and the you press play in Studio One the play head in EZDrummer moves when “Follow Host” is deselected in EZDrummer.
Honestly have never seen this behaviour before. I started up Studio One (V4) on a virtutal windows 10 image and it behaves accordingly.
Could you zip up the .song file (with the audio files removed) and post it here.

I tried to deselect Follow Host again. The play head does not move when play is started in Studio One. I have no drums at all. If I choose follow host I get the drum track to play I just cant use the Studio One mixer functions. If I hit mute it continues to play the drum track, if I unmute I get doubled up drums. It is so bizarre I went back and checked older songs I have recorded and they function as they should. They can be muted and the drums aren’t doubled up. I will upload the song and you can check it out.
Thank you so much for your patience and time trying to debug this.
Rob
One thing I have noticed that is different between older songs and new ones are the direct inputs dropdown box is different. The older songs have “none” selected and the new songs have nothing selected next to it. I check the dropbox on the new one and there are 16 channels listed with “none” and “all inputs” as my options. The direct inputs dropbox on the older ones have “none”, “all inputs”, or “EZ Drummer”. In both cases it appears as “none” is selected but they have different layouts.
This might be incredibly useless info. It just stands out as a difference between old and new songs.
I figured it out. Just a matter of bouncing back and fourth between old and new songs. Under the output settings in Studio One the “HP2” and “Line 5 and 6” were both checked in the new songs, not on the old ones. I unchecked them and it works like it is suppose too. I just need to write this down, so if it happens again I will not have to go through all this stuff.
Thank you,
Rob

Thanks for the help.
It is a head scratcher that i could drag them and the blocks stayed separate but now they do
not.
Its all good, it just takes an extra beer to drag each block one at a time for the outcome i want 🙂
Cheers
