Hi folks, sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but despite Googling for ideas I’ve come up with nothing…
I’m running Windows 10 21H2, Reaper 6.64 and EZdrummer 3.0.3 (build 33851).
As soon as I try to drag a drum pattern off the surface of the EZdrummmer 3 app (whether as the standalone 64-bit app or embedded as a VST in Reaper), I get the following message:
“Temporary file could not be created. Make sure you have write permission in the folder C:\ProgramData/ToonTrack/EZdrummer 3.”
Has anyone any idea how to fix this please?
Hi Mattster,
if you click ‘go to directory’, what happens?
I take it you are the Admin of this computer?
Can you check the properties of that folder and make sure you have both read and write permission?
BR,
John

Clicking “go to directory” opened folder C:/ProgramData/ToonTrack/EZdrummer 3 in File Explorer. I am indeed logged on as a local administrator.
Upon checking the folder properties I noticed that on the Security tab, the permissions for ‘Users’ were ‘Read & execute’, ‘List Folder Contents’ and ‘Read’.
So I hit “Edit”, selected “Users” and put a tick next to “Write”. And now drag ‘n’ drop seems to work just fine.
No idea how this happened (I’m not in the habit of meddling in the ProgramData folder) but might be useful to note in case anyone else experiences this!
All the best
