Hi,
Newbie here,
I am not sure if this is a EZDrummer question or a protools question but the PT site isn’t being very nice at letting me into my account at the moment.
Here is my issue.
I create a drum pattern in EZD2.
I open my protools project, access my EZdrummer instrument track.
Drag the pattern I want to the beginning of the tune and I can immediately see there is an apparently random amount of blank space added to the end of my pattern.
I have included a screen shot of my pattern in EZ and my pattern once it has been dragged into PT with the empty space clearly visible.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Thank you,
Hi,
yes, that’s something that’s been around forever with Pro Tools (I’m a PT user myself).
If Pro Tools deems there is some kind of overlapping data, like a note off too close to the part boundary or AfterTouch, etc. – it will pad the end of the MIDI groove.
I simply hit F4 to set my Edit window to ‘Grid’ mode and drag the end edge to the intended Bar. Or just place the beginning of the next Groove on top of the empty end.
BR,
John

Thanked by: David George and jimaThanks–this has been driving me a bit batty for a while. I usually just trim the clip.
