Embedded CC curve editor not making a difference to sound?

Hi, I’m specifically trying to draw in the CC curve for CC4 (hats pedal control) to get the hi-hat articulations to open up gradually.

So I’m manually drawing in the CC4 curve in the curve editor section embedded in the SD3 grid editor.

However, I can’t get the sound of the hi-hats to be affected by this curve.

Am I missing something? I’ve tried also moving the hits to various ‘open’ and ‘open pedal’ articulations but no change to the hats playing sound.

Hi,

you should be using the “Trigger” articulations. Is the CC4 Curve Enabled? Please see my screen shot.

Thank you, that did it.

I was also confusing which direction would be more open and which more closed, but that was easy enough to figure out once I put the hits on the correct ‘trigger’ articulations.
