Product manager shows EZkeys 2 is installed, along with the Electric Grand; Retro Electrics; and Singer Songwriter EKX’s. All show as installed and ready to use. (I also have 2 midi packs installed, and they do show up in EZkeys 2)
In the main EZkeys window it says under “EZkeys Libraries” I have EZkeys 1 and EZkeys 2. Under “EKX libraries” there is nothing. Under “Add-on Packs” it shows the two midi packs I have installed.
How do I get the three EKX packs I purchased to show up?
I have an Intel iMac 27 with 16GB ram and running Sonoma 14.1.1
Thanks in advance

EZkeys version: 2.0.3
Operating system: macOS Sonoma (14)
Are you talking about the Sound Libraries in the “Keys Tab” or the MIDI Grooves in the “Grooves Tab”?
The older EKXs (the ones made for EZkeys 1) does not contain any MIDI grooves.
However, the Singer-Songwriter EKX should be listed in your Grooves library.
Try the Settings > Advanced > Restore MIDI Database first and see if the Singer-Songwriter folder displays after that.

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman“Are you talking about the Sound Libraries in the “Keys Tab” or the MIDI Grooves in the “Grooves Tab”?”
Yes, it was in the “Grooves” tab. I performed the “Restore Midi Database” selection, and now the Singer/Songwriter selection is showing up. Thank you for such a quick response! Much appreciated…
As a new user, I’m not always sure what I should be seeing, so thanks for your help and patience with a newbie. 🙂
OK, I think I’m still having one problem with the installation. When I look at your website for the Singer-Songwriter EKX, it shows an upright piano, and an instrument named Singer-Songwriter that shows in the upper right hand corner of the screen. To the right of that, you should be able to select the presets. I have no “Singer-Songwriter” selection in the drop-down.
Thanks!
Hi,
what does your sound library drop-down look like?
In the Product Manager, if you click the ‘Show Details’ for the Singer-Songwriter EKX, does it show as Installed? Or is it only the MIDI, if you check the Installation Info tab?

John

Hi John,
In the Product Manager, the Singer-Songwriter EKX shows as “installed”. In the “Installation Info” tab it shows 2 components installed; “Sound Library”, and “Midi”. Both are version 1.0.0.
In my Operating System, when I open the Application Support/EZkeys folder, there is a folder EZK2-SingerSongwriter that contains some files and a Sounds folder.
Thanks,
Craig
I forgot to include the sounds library dropdown. Under the EZkeys 2 heading there is one entry. EZkeys 2 Session Grand. Under the EZkeys 1 heading there are 3 entries. The Electric Grand, Retro Planet, and Retro Clavinet.
Thanks,
Craig
Since I hadn’t gotten a response for a while, I decided to try re-installing the EZkeys 2 Core Library. This is where I assume the sound libraries are held. I opened the Product Manager and pressed Show Details under the EZkeys 2 Core Library. Even though the updates (Sound Library update for Mac, Core MIDI update for Mac) showed as installed, I re-downloaded and installed them again.
When I started EZkeys 2, the Singer-Songwriter entry under EZkeys 2 Libraries now shows up, and is usable.
The EZkeys 2 installer for Mac could use some work, since neither the midi, or the sound files were usable after installation. It looked like all the files were sucessfully installed, but did not re-index the list of available files so they would show up in these dynamic menus.
Hi,
good to hear that your products show up now.
The EZkeys2 Core Library “only” contains the ‘EZkeys 2 Session Grand’ library, the other libraries have their own installers.
Did you install the Singer-Songwriter EKX while the EZkeys 2 app was open the first time?
Did you try restarting EZkeys 2 and/or rebooting your Mac in-between installing and launching EZkeys 2?
BR,
John

Hi John. I purchased all these products at the same time, so was performing the installation on a Mac that has never had a Toontrack product on it. (Not even the demos) I installed the products in the order they appear in the Product Manager.
I understand the Core installer only has the Grand. I only wanted the installer to run so that it would run the indexing routine on all installed products. On initial installation, it did not properly populate either the MIDI files, or the sounds files. This must occur somewhat often as there is a utility to fix problems in the MIDI files. Settings;Advanced;Restore MIDI Database.
I purchased EZmix 2, and downloaded it, but have not installed it yet.
I did not open EZkeys 2 until all the products were installed. I opened and closed EZkeys 2 five or six times prior to starting this thread. Since EZkeys is a completely new product to me, it took me some time to determine that some things were not showing up in the dynamic menus.
I have not rebooted my Mac since I started the installation of EZkeys.
I hope this helps!
Craig
