You can make your own MIDI maps. It’s rather quick and easy.

Bare Faced, Do you own an Efnote? Because on many reddit threads people seem to be encountering problems using Efnote kits. I assume you have personal experience with said kit?

What I own is irrelevant. It is nothing more than a MIDI controller. Making (or modifying) a map for any MIDI controller is a rather light task that you only need to do once. Much of it can be accomplished by using the Learn button and striking a pad.

    Bare Faced,

If the Presets are pointless, as you clearly imply, why has EZD bothered to include 79 of them?

My original question was extremely simple. Currently EZD has Presets for 13 seperate manufactures, and I would like to know if they are planning on adding Efnote to the list.

Not sure how you derived such a ridiculous assumption, but you just strengthened the point that you can take one of theses (preferably one that’s closest) and modify it to work on the elusive Efnote.

Or you can wait… which is just as ridiculous considering ToonTrack provides the tools and ability to create a drum map in short order. Not to mention that you can map Efnote to EZ Drummer (page 12 of the Efnote manual reveals this) which if often more desirable as mapping in EZ Drummer is one way and if go back and forth between your DAW, the mapping will then revert back to EZ Drummer.

It would be more realistic to believe that many of maps in EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer were provided by users like us, who actually possess such equipment and make it work with their products. ToonTrack may not have access to such kits.

Not to mention that they don’t comment on any developments.

I know this doesn’t answer the question about TT adding Efnote to the list, but I had the same issue with my Simmons SD1000 module; all of the Simmons presets had some crazy quarks. After discovering that Medeli DD650 presets was the closest mapping to my Simmons, I saved that as a user preset, renamed SD1000 to match, and edited the file to correspond with the Simmons Midi notes from the online manual. Most of the first number was correct. If I left it as is, it had a few issues. So where there is a line in the text file that had “map 50 tom1FX tom1R racktom1FX racktom1R 82″ – I changed it to “map 50 tom1FX tom1R racktom1FX racktom1R 50″.  So both numbers matched, and that seemed to have fixed the toms, snare, and cymbal issues except for the choke, and I also found a fix for that. The fix for the choke was to remove “controller 16 kill” at the bottom of the file, and add  “AutoAtOffSo” without the quotes in its place; now, things seem to be working as they should. I do use an EFNote 8″ Bass Kick Pad on my Simmons. From what I can tell, the EfNote’s 3,5,7 midi mapping (from their online manuals) is close to my Simmons and the Medeli DD650. It took some trial and error to get it to work, but now things seem to play and record much better. I hope this helps. I have the text file for the Simmons conversion I did if you need it.
