I am totally frustrated by the dumb operational logic of this software.
WHY?
Theres nothing smart about it.
When You create a loop point in one mode it does not automatically create the same loop point in another mode so you are continually adjusting loop points. The Daw loop point does not automatically create a loop point in EZD3 and vice versa, more time wasting, at the moment the loop points a fighting each other this also applies to stop start buttons.
The Daw is playing through its loop while EZD3 is doing its own thing with its loop command, this creates confusion and extra work to setup a desired loop point where both software are working in harmony.
Selecting a start point in EZD3 does not start the DAW from the same point, this forces you to use the DAW yet you are working in EZD3, this is very poor logic.
Playing a loop from its start point is very confusing if not impossible in EZD3, there appears to be no operational harmony and logic with looping, this creates frustration and time wasting.
Stop /starting, looping and repositioning should all be in sync throughout all the software, DAW and EZD3 otherwise the whole workflow becomes a poorly organised brothel.
This is constructive feedback from a person that has used computers and software since their birth and has low tolerance of poor logic and is running out of time.
you could almost call me a grumpy old man.

Hi,
I am not entirely sure what you are referring to? If you have ‘Follow Host’ Enabled, the Song Track will loop in Sync with a loop set in e.g. Logic.
If you have a loop selection on the Song Track that you do not wish to loop while the Logic Timeline is running, you just Disable the loop by hitting ‘Shift+G’. You may want to check if you have the ‘Automatically Loop Selection’ selected in the Track Menu, if that is adding to the confusion.
Plugins cannot control the DAW’s Timeline, this is not exclusive to Toontrack plugins, it is what it is, a VST/AU/AAX plugin cannot control the DAW because it doesn’t work that way. Timeline positions are sent from the DAW to the plugin, not vice versa. That’s why you can’t set the Playhead on a certain position on the EZD3 Song Track and have the DAW jump to / follow.
If you are thinking about the Grooves Browser and previewing, then I can understand that it can be confusing and frustrating if you have set the loop area in your DAW to something that doesn’t match the Bars you are previewing in the Browser; i.e. if you have set 8 Bars in your DAW between e.g. 6 and 14 and you have a 16 Bars loop selected in the Browser. EZD3 will try to follow the Timeline received from the DAW. Would you have a loop area set between 1 and 9 and an 8 Bar loop selected in EZD3, it would sync perfectly.
Maybe a different Groove Browser sync behavior for the wish list? Sync to next Bar or Beat -ish?

John
