Hi,
As much as I love SD3, I’m about to lose my mind over a small but very frustrating detail.
I’d like to be able to cycle and audition different drum kits without having to click and use hoverable drop down menus. This is a workflow killer. I’m seriously looking to replace SD3 simply because when I try to find a drum kit that fits my current project. This process is killing me. It is very time consuming. It’s counterproductive to a point that I’ll use a less professional sounding plugin that has a better workflow.
We need a way to cycle though the preset kits and mixes with a shortcut. At the very least, with an the arrow keys. We need a preset browser that can operate without the mouse.
Please let me know if there’s quicker way to do this that I missed.
Thank you,

Just to clarify – do you want to cycle through the Drums and Mixer Presets? If that’s the case, do you find the buttons not to do the job as you wish (see attached screenshot)? Would you like to cycle through them using keyboard shortcuts?
Or are you talking about Part Presets – Drum Kits which only changes the drums? These presets are found in the bottom of the Drums and Mixer Presets drop down menu.

Thanked by: François BeauvaisThanks for the reply,
I would indeed like to have keyboard shortcuts for all of them. But mostly Parts presets for kits and mixes. I did not notice the small arrow on the left side. Thanks for pointing that out but it’s not as useful.
Unfortunately, we can’t see the next preset like we could with a preset browser. Maybe a whole tab should be dedicated to this. I have a lot of Toontrack SDX and EZX and with some libraries like the Orchestral Percussion for exemple, I would like to have a shortcut to switch between mic positions like close position, audience, and conductor.
Other smaller libraries like the Electronic EZX and Number 1 Hits have a bunch of different kit presets and mixers preset in the Parts Preset section. This is the most painful one to work with and my primary issue. A dropdown menu followed by another hoverable drop down menu is just an awful experience when you want to cycle through and audition kits and mixer presets.
So yes, distinct keyboard shortcuts for both (next and previous) Parts Preset kits and mixers would be great. Any improvement here would be great. I don’t think it can get worst than a drop down followed by another hoverable dropdown. This requires to much mouse precision and can’t be done quickly enough.
Thanks,
