That’s normal behavior, when used with a DAW, the audio/midi setup is controlled by this and not SD3

    Hi,

in Pro Tools, the MIDI In/Out is handled by Pro Tools.
Create the Stereo Instrument Track, insert the SD3 plug-in and make sure that the Instrument view is active in the Mixer. Check that the MIDI Input of the Track is set to ‘All’ and then Record arm the Instrument Track. I have my Pro Tools Preferences set to MIDI Thru for selected Track, which means I do not have to Record arm the Track, I just select it to play through it.

    I hope this helps,
    John

I’m not a Pro Tools user, but I guess you must make sure that Pro Tools has identified your e-drum set as a MIDI input device, and that you have it enabled in your settings/preferences before you send it to the track where your SD3 VSTi has been loaded (I use Cockos Reaper, and you set your MIDI devices in your preferences before they can be used – So I’m guessing it must be more or less the same in every DAW).
