I’ve been using Beatstation for about 45 minutes now, enjoying the sounds, grooves, and tunes that can be easily coaxed out of this tool. One thing I haven’t been able to figure out, though: It’s easy enough to add a sound to a stack, simply by dragging it onto the stack. But, how does one unstack an unwanted sound? I wasn’t able to do so by dragging the sound any special place I could find. And the delete key, to my surprise, didn’t do the job. Sure, it’s easy enough to mute an unwanted sound but how does one completely remove an unwanted sound from a stack? I don’t want the clutter that using the mute option leaves in place because I find that life has more than enough clutter already.
Thanks for the answer!
Cheers,
P.S. I DID try standing on my head, twirling the index fingers of both hands, and shouting “Begone thou unwanted sound!” But doing so didn’t achieve the desired effect.
Cheers,
I think there is a big X in one corner that nukes the selected sound.

I can’t find such an X. On the left side I find a color swatch, which I don’t seem to be able to manipulate. On the right side I find a pull-down list that lets me substitute a different sound. With the mouse scroll wheel I can substitute sounds, just as I can manipulate them on the right. That’s pretty cool. But no way that I can see to delete ’em. Maybe I need new glasses?
The big X is located in the bottom right corner of the properties window.

Oops, hang on! Yes, I found it, thanks!
While looking for the Drum Master tab, which I’ve still not found, I saw that big X down in the bottom right corner, just as promised. It’s not physically close to the sound tabs, so I can understand why I missed it, at least in one sense. In another sense, how anyone with any sort of eyesight could miss that big X, I dunno!
Thanks a bundle, y’all. I appreciate the help all the more because the user’s manual is kinda thin. I’m the sort who wants to go deep right away. That is, I pretty much lack the patience necessary to intuitively figure out the interface bit by bit. So, for me, the thin reference manual didn’t provide much help. I mean, I’m still looking for basic user interface elements, such as the Drum Master tab.
Cheers,
Wow, I’m on a roll, now. I just found the “Drum Master” tab. Pretty soon, there won’t be any more hidden secrets. . . .
Nice to hear! Well, for anything that’s missing in the manual – we are here to answer your questions
