Working in Cakewalk/Sonar, I have a song in EZ Keys in the key of A. I drag/drop the song from EZ Keys Interface to “Drum and Keys’ tab in EZ Bass interface. EZ Bass is not reading the chords. The entire song chord in the EZ Bass song track says Am. So it’s one long “key bar” the entire length of the song says Am and the header for the whole thing says Verse, when there are Verses, Bridges, Chorus, etc. Photo attached. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Do you get the same, no chord results, if you drag from the Rhythm and Chords section to the Song Track and the Left Hand section? Or is it one or the other that just gives the A minor chord?

It will read that there are chords if I choose the left hand version, but some chords aren’t being picked up, maybe because of the velocity of what EZB is reading as the “bass” note on the piano? However, even in the left hand version interpolation, it seems the chord isn’t always correct, and I suppose it might be because many of the played MIDI packs I’m using have “color” added to the basic chords… inversions… 9ths… 11ths.. ect.?
Also… if I choose left hand, the MIDI info shows up in the Grid Editor. If I choose Rhythm and Chords, it doesn’t, even though there is data and stuff is playing in the song track below.

The chords won’t be represented exactly when dragging from EZkeys to EZbass. EZbass won’t show the extensions like 7th, 9th, et al.
Are you using version 1.3.0 of EZkeys?
How does it sound when playing together? Is the bass following the chord progression?

Yes, I understand EZB won’t show the extensions; what I’m saying is that the various chord extensions and inversions — such as having a C# in the piano bass in a first inversion of an A Maj chord — or having 9ths and 11ths in a chord — may be confusing EZB deciphering what the actual chord is, and therefore what the “root” bass note of the chord should be.
Yes, I’m using version 1.3.0 of EZ Keys….
Dragging MIDI from EZK to the Rhythm and Chords conversion in EZB actually sounds pretty good, even though I get no part information (Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc.). It needs some adjustment in spots, however. But I can’t do that because when I click the Grid Editor tab there is no data there. There IS data there if I drag to the Left Hand option in EZB. See photos. EZB2 is the result of dragging EZK MIDI to the Rhythm and Chords (see in the song track it’s one continuous Verse part in the wrong key notation of Am. EZB3 is what appears in the Grid Editor, which is nothing.

If you scroll down the MIDI editor, is there MIDI showing?

Ahh. Yes. My error. Thought the Grid Editor focus, when switched to, would be on the MIDI notes being played in the Song Track.
What I’m having to do is drag/drop the sections in from EZK (Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc) one at a time to the Rhythm and Chords in EZB, then Export to Current Song Track at the correct song measure. EZB is still mis-reading the section type (which I can manually change in EZB). Every section is brought in with a key signature of Am, though the song is in A, but the notes are mostly correct in the Grid Editor relative to the EZK MIDI.
Would like to not have go through all this. Is this the best performance sharing data between EZK and EZB to expect, or is there some other adjustment I can make? You would think at least correctly importing the Song Type Part would be from one to the other wouldn’t be a problem.
Another strange problem: if I try to drag/drop the entire MIDI performance from EZK to the Rhythm and Chords in EZB, the bass notes track pretty well, but as soon as I try to reduce the amount of notes in Edit Play Style to make the bass a little “less busy,” every note from start to end snaps to A, so every performance parameter in the Grid Editor is lost.
