I use Sony Acid 7 and when I drag a beat into a track it plays piano notes. Obviously it is midi, but I bought this thinking I could just drag beats in. How do I do just that?

Firstly this is not a fault of EZ or SD2 ,you did not say which you are using but rest assured.
If you are getting a piano you have not got the right instrument on the right track , in general Midi your Midi channel 10 is reserved for Drums and Piano would be midi channel 1 so that may have something to do with it although EZ drummer or SD2 will play normally on midi 1, so it seems it is Sony Acid 7 that you need to tweeq.

Thanks. That works but I am getting the Acid 7 drum sounds. How do I get the EZdrummer much better drum sounds? They are not in the effects section.

Ok, it is listed as soft synth in my Acid. That’s why I couldn’t find it. I think it will work now. 🙂
