Drag and drop into daw….not happening

Something weird just started…inside my daw (protools) I have EZD open and I select a groove and put in the EZD timeline, I can no longer just right click to alter it…what happens is it makes a cut even with arrow key lit up and not the scissors…..and therefore I can no longer drag it and drop it into my PT timeline?
Anyone know what is going on? It never did that before.
