Hi all.
I’m about to purchase the last SDX that will fit onto my dedicated 1Tb SSD.
I currently have 189Gb free space remaining, and the SDX that I am going to purchase (Area 33 Origin) is 131Gb… Great, it fits!….
However, the ‘system requirements’ states that the SDX requires 131Gb of free space PLUS an additional 131Gb is required for the installation process.
I don’t have two-times 131Gb on my SSD for this.
Can I install it onto a different computer and then drag and drop the 131Gb folder into my SSD?
Would that work?
If not, can anyone think of any way of getting it onto my SSD?
Thank you all.
If you are downloading it to another drive on your computer, you will be able to install it on your SSD.
Perhaps time for a bigger SSD. 2TB & 4TB have been dropping in price.

Thank you. That is good news.
I would upgrade my SSD, however I only just bought this one for my brand new purchase of Superior Drummer ONE MONTH ago!!!
I have become quite addicted to SDXs since then and I need to hit the brakes now!

Keep that small SSD you have now but re-purpose it as a backup drive for your system in an external enclosure. Or use it to put recorded sessions on. Get a bigger SSD – always get more than you think you need.

Thanked by: Bear-Faced CowI agree with Jack.
Regardless of when you purchased that SSD, now is a good time to get one. Amazon often has specials on drives. You only need a USB type SSD since SD3 loads all drums into RAM.

Thanked by: drumjack52Thanks guys. I’ve decided to take your advice and upgrade to a 2TB SSD.
Will it be as simple as copying the contents of my 1TB to my 2TB and making sure that the 2TB is called E:/ (same as the 1TB was)?
Then just plug it in and job is done, or will SuperiorDrummer notice that something has changed and require setting adjustments?
thank you

Hi,
since you’re on Windows, it *should* be, yes but since we’re talking about SDX libraries here, it’s no problem re-linking the libraries either inside the SD3 app/plug-in or the Product Manager.

Just let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Unless things have changed in Windowsland you can’t have two drives with the same drive letter. So the new drive will have to have a different letter.

Yes, but from what I could understand from Todd’s last reply, he intends to replace the older, smaller drive with the new, bigger drive.

Understood but he’d have to have both drives mounted at the same time to do a drag and drop from one to the other. Even if the drives are external. I used to run a Windows system when I first started working with a daw so I’ve been there/done that with drives.
