The Toontrack MIDI packs have been so unbelievably helpful to my workflow – the variety, the easy editing, just everything – but there’s one “blind spot” missing that I wish could get some love and that’s post-hardcore/some branches of “emo”. The hardcore pack is great, but it’s pretty “beatdown-y” which makes sense considering it’s the drummer from Hatebreed.
I’m talking bands like Thursday with their incredible drummer Tucker Rule, Death Cab with the mind-blowing Jason McGerr – stuff like that. Angular, heavy, hooky.
Any chance we could see something like this in the future? I hope I’m not alone in this pipe dream hah.
