Hi,
How can I disable cymbal choking in EZ drummer? I am triggering from a midi controller and when I hit a velocity of 127 on a bass drum it chokes the cymbal. I need the crash to ring out.
Thanks,
Dave
Not knowing anything about your system (host DAW, OS, 64-bit, etc.) it won’t be easy to guess. With the info provided, the only guess I can make is that there is some MIDI transformer involved.

this can only mean that your controller is sending channel pressure… this is bad. Either you have a way to turn it off in the controller, filter this info in your sequencer, or you will have to turn the envelope section of your cymbal off.
This last solution means you won’t be able to program cymbal chokes by any other means than using the pre-recorded ones (on note 54 and 58, typically), or using the note duration in your sequencer (note off), which may or may not be adequate for your needs. All that to say that solution 1 and 2 should be explored.

actually, you are using EZDrummer (where I assumed Superior), so you have no choice but looking at suppressing channel pressure data before it reaches your Toontrack product…

This actually was never a problem for me. All of a sudden, I get permanent chokes if I tap the Akai Pads with full velocity. How can this shit just manifest out of nowhere? I am not finding any options to change choke behaviour…any ideas?
Best regards
Roman
Pressing on your pads at “full velocity” is probably triggering aftertouch. Either disable it or filter it out.
