Hi all,
I use SD3, specifically GM presets
Do we have direct cymbals channels like the kick, snare etc… or they are jut part of the over head channels.
Some times I want to use the drum kit without overhead mics nor abient channels, and when I do, I loose all cymbals.
What am I doing wrong.
Also, when exporting individual instrument as audio, how do I get each cymbal channel as a separate audio file.
Thank you.
Hi,
you are right about the Close Mics for Cymbals being the OH.
You can Disable the Bleed for other instruments in the OH channel if you want to; select the OH channel in question and view its properties to Disable or lower the volume for Bleeds.
If you right-click a Cymbal and go to More > Route Instrument Microphones… you can also create a new channel for the Close signal, which will create an ‘X’-channel in the mixer. You can rename this channel in the mixer if you want to.
If you wish to export every microphone channel pre mixer, there is an option for it under the Advanced tab in the Export/Bounce window. Here you can also select to use different Split options.
BR,
John
