Different drum libraries give different sounds with ame drum kit???/ huh???

Ok so I started a new song. I’m using the metal machine drum kit and it is sounding awesome in my pro tools session.
I begin by using the modern groove library which was perfect for this song, but then I wanted grooves from the pop/rock library and all of a sudden the drum kit sounds very different……WHY? and more importantly how can I make sound the same?

Hi,

first I would like you to use the ‘Check for Updates’ function in the EZdrummer 2 Menu, to see if there are any updates for libraries and/or MIDI.
Next, in Pro Tools, please examine the Velocity lane for the Modern groove and the POP/ROCK groove; does it seem like they differ much?
If so, you can lower/raise one of them to get a closer match.

Hi John, yes there were updates to make and I did all of them, but it still didn’t fix the issue. The pop/rock library ends up sounding completely different tone wise than any of the other libraries even though I have the metal machine drum kit? ????Any thing you could suggest would appreciated. I have version 1.5.2 pop/rock

Hold on….my apologies. I tried the velocities like you said (after I posted…oops) and found that you were right. I didn’t know it made such a big difference. What sucks is I’m going to have to adjust the velocity for every groove….Such is life. Thank you John!
