It’s the substitution scheme at work….You probably don’t have a cymbal loaded in the china slot so ezdrummer is replacing it with a similar instrument.

My guess is that you have ‘None’ selected for that cymbal or it is the substitution aspect coming into play.

    Gentlemen,

I’m sorry to interrupt, but isn’t this an issue that gets fixed with the DFH update? Markwaldo, I noticed you haven’t downloaded the update, so I suggest you do so and see if this fixes your issue. It’s available from the DFH page under My Products on your account.

If you’re talking about the update on the Toontrack website then no, this happens on my system as well and I have the latest DFH EZX update installed (1.1.3).

What Mark is talking about (I think) is that when you select the second cymbal in ‘China 1’ (20″ Sabian HH Dark Chinese) and click on the cymbal in the EZD GUI, it substitutes to ‘Crash Ride 2’…unless you have ’23” Sabian HH Crash Ride’ selected in ‘Crash Ride 2’ and then it substitutes to the ‘Ride’.

And I agree with Mark, it is confusing.

It’s not making a difference. I downloaded the update, but it is still happening. And yes, I have a cymbal selected. I can select either 20″ Sabian HH Dark chinese… regular or ride… and either way when I click on it the other far right cymbal clicks instead. It isn’t a complete deal breaker, but at the same time kind of sucks not being able to use all of the parts. Now that I have given the update, does anyone know why this is still happening?

BTW, I appreciate all the feedback… sometimes seemingly random things end up being the fix.

OK, then that is weird. When I load the ‘Ride’ version, the ‘China 1’ activates. If I switch to the ‘regular’ version, it gets substituted with the ‘Crash Ride 2’.

Just to double check, the EZD interface indicated you are running version 1.2.0 (bottom right corner) and the DFH EZX also reads 1.1.3 (click the ‘?’ and hover your mouse over the ‘DRUMKIT FROM HELL’ library). Probably ‘yes’ to both but I’m just checking.

Also, can you fill in your system specs on your profile page so we know what kind of system you are using? Mac/PC, OS (32-bit or 64-bit), etc.

can I make a pertinent remark and state that you can use all the included instruments… at the end of the day EZdrummer is not about clicking the pretty interface but programming drums 😉

If you program or make use of a MIDI file that calls a china (GM note 52) it will play back as it should, regardless of what populates that instrument ‘slot’. Try it using any of the DFH MIDI labeled ‘China Right’.

So, yes, it is an annoying glitch but that hardly makes the china on the right hand side of the drummer unusable. I hope this clarifies.
