I drag a pattern to the song block track. After I audition the pattern and decide it’s not the right pattern, I am supposed to be able to hit the Delete key on my computer keyboard to remove the pattern. My Delete key does not remove the pattern from the track. I have to right click on the pattern and select “Remove” using the mouse. How come my Delete key does not remove the pattern?

Hi,
is this in the Standalone or as plugin in a DAW?
Which version number is displayed in the plugin interface?
Is the pattern selected/highlighted?

In addition to John’s questions, are you on a Mac or PC?

Windows Pro 7 64 bit, Reaper 5.35, plugin version 3.1.2 and yes the pattern is highlighted when I hit the delete key.
In stand alone mode the delete key works as intended. I only have this issue when I’m editing in the plugin screen inside Reaper.
I don’t have the delete key reprogrammed as something else in Reaper, but I’ll check that anyway.

Does Reaper allow for keystrokes to pass to plugins? Not all DAWs allow that.

I specifically did the right click on the SD3 plugin and selected “send all keyboard input to plugin” so yes it should allow it. But it still won’t delete the pattern from the track.
Posted the same question at the Reaper forum, I’ll see what responses I get over there.

Have you checked the SD3 Settings > General > Enable keyboard shortcuts in other hosts than standalone(DAWs)?

Thanked by: Mikael and Gary StephensHave you checked the SD3 Settings > General > Enable keyboard shortcuts in other hosts than standalone(DAWs)?

I went in there and checked/enabled this setting. Now the Delete key works as expected with the plugin preview track. THANK YOU!
The way that item is worded I never would have guessed that it would work for this particular issue. I never would have thought of the Delete key as a “keyboard shortcut” but after I checked that box the Delete key started working.
