Default Preset Not Working

How do I get the FILE/USE CURRENT AS DEFAULT PROJECT to work correctly?   I’m assuming the option should set the new default – but my SD3 continues to load some random preset from over a year ago.   I’m running Windows 10 in FL Studio.   I checked the Settings and couldn’t find a choice that would seem to be related to this.  I’m anxious to get the benefit of having my template project load, so I don’t have to go through the unrelated “default” before loading my template.

It should just work if you save as default when you have the kit you want open. It does with mine.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Hi zenwarlord,

if you start the SD3 Standalone app, does it load the correct project as Default? If not, if you set the Project as Default in the Standalone, close and re-open does it load then?
