Hey everyone, I’m new around here and currently working with EZdrummer 3 along with a couple of EZX packs for quick songwriting, but I’m starting to feel the limits when it comes to deeper mixing and detailed control, so I’m thinking seriously about upgrading to Superior Drummer 3. Before I jump in, I wanted to ask about something specific: I’m really interested in buying the Decades SDX because that Al Schmitt sound is exactly what I’m aiming for in an upcoming project, but I’ve seen mixed information about whether an SDX can be purchased and installed before owning SD3. Can I buy the Decades SDX now and simply activate it later once I switch to Superior Drummer 3, or does the library require an active SD3 license before it even works or installs? If anyone has gone through this upgrade path, I’d really appreciate hearing how it went so I don’t end up buying something I can’t use yet.
Hi Skyler,
what’s your idea behind this behavior? Is the decades sdx on sale somewhere? You can’t use this sdx without sd3. It’s not a samplelibrary that you can use in other vst software nor does it contain any oneshot samples. Maybe there will come some bundle offers for sd3 you should watch out for.
Cheers Ilja
