Cymbals sound like I’m playing on the bow

I just got EZD3 up and running. Got my kit connected and all’s well… mostly. When I strike my crash cymbals, they sound like I’m hitting the bow. If I click on them in the EZD3 interface, they make a proper crash sound. Any ideas as to what’s causing this?

Clicking on a drum equals a 100% velocity sound. Striking your drum pad equals however hard you hit it.

Adjust the sensitivity of you cymbal in your drum module. Or go into Settings>Edrums and adjust the Velocity Curve.

Hi there,

Would help if you indicated which kit (brand/model) you have connected. You could try going into Settings > E-Drums/MIDI In and selecting a Preset that closely matches the kit you are using.

Thanks for the help. Appreciate it. It’s an Alesis Command. That’s the kit I have selected in the screenshot Brad provided. I tried changing the velocity, but that just makes it sound like a harder strike. Like hitting a ride cymbal harder with the tip of the stick. Not hitting the edge with the shoulder of the stick.

Got it fixed, but all I needed to do was restart EZD3. Should have thought of that first. Appreciate the attempted help 🙂
