Hey everyone. I own an Alesis DM10 MKII kit. In general I get the feeling that the cymbals on this kit aren’t really the best. Or maybe I am doing something wrong. Either way, could someone give me a few tips on how to optimise the ride and crashes as well as the hi-hat? On most kits that I load in through Ezdrummer, the cymbals sound anemic. Weak attack, barely audible even when I crank up the volume on the mixer. The hi-hat and ride is especially bad in this regard. And getting the crashes to actually crash is an effort. I shouldn’t have to hammer on them so hard to get them to trigger with a good attack. I must be missing something. Which nobs do I have to twist here?
It might be the output of your Alesis. I have no trouble getting cymbals heard.
