Hi !
I have baught an Alesis nitro mesh kit, whith SD3, and in a lot of kits the crash cymbal is always muted, I have selected the “Nitro” preset but it’s not working…
It’s not the cymbal itself, because it’s working nice with the alesis sound module, it’s a midi problem I think (the muted signal is controlling the aftertouch of the note I think…)
Can you help please ?
Thanks !
edit : after a few trys, it appears that the first time I power on the drum set and SD3, the crash cymbal is working normally, but if I mute it, it stays muted forever, even if I change the drum kit,the aftertouch seems to never reset to zero…….arg !!!! heeeelp !!
The MIDI standard is that a mute should send CC value 127 and a release should send CC value 0.
The problem is that the Nitro kit sends 127 when you mute (as it should) but it doesn’t send 0 when you release it. Superior Drummer 3 has the feature that you can grab a cymbal and then play several mutes in a row, which the Nitro can’t – since it can only mute an already ringing cymbal.
However, we are aware of that lots of users are using this kit and we will release a fix for this in the coming Superior Drummer 3 update. It’s currently in development, but we are working as fast as we can to get it released 🙂
