Cymbal Replacement?

Hi,

I bought SD3 today and my question is this: I intend to buy an electronic drum set with only two crash cymbals. I also intend to record an album with it, replacing my acoustic set, which has 5 crashes total. Is it possible to replace say a 16″ crash with a 16″ china in the editor after recording, even though I have only two crashes in my electronic drum kit? And if so, how do I do that? Or do I have to record the missing cymbals separately?

You would just select and move the notes you want to a different note number which has another cymbal sound.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Welcome to the Superior Drummer family!

SD3 has a quite advanced grid editor that will let you do that and a whole lot more. My Yanaha DTX kit has only 2 crash cymbals and I move hits around all the time.

And on top of the greeter you also have Edit Play Styles in which you can move your notes around graphically as well as make various adjustments.
