Hello,
Lately I’m creating some custom grooves using midis I create out from SD3 and export as midi file. Then, with these exporter .mid files, I’m building the song the “Song track” canvass (where you drag your grooves to) in the pane below, without the song creator.
Whenever I put new grooves (custom in my case) in the timeline, all of them have two names. For example, “Hats closed tip” in the upper side, that refers to the power hand, and below, all of them are “Verse”. Please, see the picture for more clarification, using the official SD3 manual link here.
By right clicking over the midi block I added, I can select “Song Parts“. These song parts are already pre-defined (Fill, Verse, Intro, etc…). I need to add my own song parts like “Solo”, “Interlude” etc… I find no way to create my own song parts or to edit the defined ones. I can just use the pre-defined ones and that’s pretty inconvenient and insufficient for my current needs.
Is there any way I can create new “Song Parts” or at least rename the song part label in the bottom side of the midi block somehow? I find this something to be trivial to be done but I find no human way to do it. Maybe I’m missing something.
Thanks for your help.

I find it very surprising that this hasn’t been fixed in an update. It needs to be editable, both name and color….

Thanked by: hpharley90Definitely a good feature request. I need this as well. It would help immensely in arranging and song construction/writing. +1

Thanked by: hpharley90Yeah this would be super helpful…with extra options too
Still waiting on this …. seems like it should be easy enough if they’ve already written code for the EZ line…
Anyway, the only way I’ve been making this work is by editing the blocks in the DAW instead of the SD3 window.. it’s frustrating but still a work around.
I need this function too. Especially as it already exists in EzDrummer and EzKeys 2. It is only missing in SD3 and EzBass.
It would also be helpful if you could export the song structure from the song track with just the song parts and possibly the chords from the individual Toontrack products so that you could then import it as a structure in another product (especially from EzKeys to EzBass).

I’m okay with some restrictions like length (max. 12 characters) or quantity (max. 5 custom song parts).

A little hard to believe it’s been 3 and a half years.
I use both EZ BASS and SD3.
Am I the only one who uses turnarounds?
